Happy New Year!

I know, I know, it's all a bit late, but, well, life went and got busy on me.

Christmas came and went, Santa came and went, the tree actually came down before the end of January (one New Year's Resolution has been kept at least!)... unlike last year when my big bug kept begging me to take it down before his birthday - in April...

We scooted off to a gorgeous little fishing village for a relaxing family holiday with friends, one of whom managed to drag me off to every fabric related store within an hour's proximity! Needless to say I have renewed my acquaintance with my sewing machine, have a stash of gorgeous fabrics, and a list of over 20 projects on my wishlist!

Speaking of fabrics, my esteemed Bedbug partner Cylie (not content with renewing my personal fabric addiction!) has stepped out and set up an offshoot of The Bedbug, The Fabricbug! Featuring all of your favourite licensed characters, The Fabricbug offers 100% cottons, polycottons, thermal lined fabric, remnant packs, ready-to-quilt packs and Softies for Sanctuary - gorgeous handcrafted softies with profit donated to Adra - Women's Refuges. Check out The Fabricbug here.

With all of that, it has been a busy January so far for The Bedbug crew. Finally school holidays are nearly through and I for one am looking forward to everything returning to normal. Kind of.

We as a family are looking at a different kind of normal this year, with our big bug off to school for the first time! I don't think the little bug and I quite know what we are in for... apart from having to be terribly organised (I don't think I appreciated how easy I had it with kinder!), I am hoping for some more solid blocks of time to work on the bedbug and the aforementioned sewing projects, without all of the usual running around. Only time will tell.

With the onset of school, the big bug has upgraded his room, with the addition of bunks and of course, big bug bedding... The choice was a Transformers design, with the little bug selecting Spiderman as his hero of choice for the transition from cot to big bed later this year (yes, I am still in denial...).

Quick Treehouse update: we have new stock arriving in the next week, so if you are looking to upgrade your little bug's bedroom with some gorgeous designs, stay tuned...

In the meantime, enjoy these last few days of holidays and to all of those bugs (and parents) making the step to "big school" this year, good luck, Ill be thinking of you!
